In 2018, BVK Group Holding, which manages the TM "SKATERT-SAMOBRANKA", "VITALAND", "YARMARKA", etc., decided to take an investment risk and began construction of its own canned food production factory in Volzhsky. The main goal was not only to localize the production of its own brands, but also to create high-quality production facilities to offer products to other Russian companies and retail chains.
The place was not chosen by chance. The climate of the Volgograd region is most favorable for cucumbers and tomatoes, the region is rich in fertile lands, there are many farms for growing vegetables. The proximity of the factory to farms minimizes logistics time, reduces the risk of spoilage of raw materials during transportation. Vegetables that are used for canning are grown in natural soil, during maturation they are saturated with vitamins and useful trace elements, which are preserved as much as possible during conservation.
Challenges.
The launch of the plant came at a difficult time associated with the Covid-19 pandemic, followed by sanctions pressure related not only to logistics, but also to technical solutions, since the equipment for the Samobranka Manufacturing Company was supplied from Europe. But the company managed to cope with all the challenges, prevented a crisis, the factory started up and continued to work steadily, increasing capacity. And this, indeed, can be considered a real victory.
To date, the MC Samobranka processes up to two hundred tons of fresh raw materials daily and produces more than 250 thousand conventional jars per day, this figure is about 50 million pieces per year. Moreover, the factory has become a stable employer for the region, employing more than 250 employees.
In addition to the development of production, "SKATERT-SAMOBRANKA" products have expanded the geography of sales markets. Today, our canned vegetables can be found in stores in Belarus, Kazakhstan, South Korea, China and even in the United Arab Emirates.
